Puerto Rico has some of the clearest waters and purest sand beaches in the world. Aguadilla is no exception. Aguadilla, Puerto Rico is located on the north-western most top of the country. The town is nearly 36 square miles. It is home to the Aguadilla international airport, one of 12 commercial airports in the country. Aguadilla is easily accessible to travelers who are looking to buy another house as a second home.
Aguadilla is also home to Crash Boat beach. It gets its name from a time when the U.S. Military would dock rescue boats for downed air planes, on its pier. The pier, which still stands today, is a wonderful tourist attraction. Beachgoers are known to walk onto the pier and dive into the crystal clear water.
Also in town is the Villa Montana Beach Resort. The resort is housed on 35 acres and 3 miles of beautiful white sandy beaches. There are 32 villas and 37 hotel rooms for its guests to enjoy. Home to its open air restaurants, sculptured pools, and fine spa services, the resort is sure to please. An ideal place to have a wedding. It would also be a great place to sleep while looking into buying another house in town.
There are many things to do here: kayaking, snorkeling, fishing, scuba diving, and banana boat rides. Maybe you just want to work on your tan, or chase around baby iguanas all day. Perhaps the nightlife is your scene. Put on your dancing shoes and head to Happy Belly’s for some Spanish dancing right on the Jobos beach.
If food is your thing, visit a local bakery or deli. There are so many wonderful foods to enjoy. Be sure to try a “pastelito.” Some come filled with sweet things like guava, pineapple, or coconut, for a mid-day snack. Some may fill your belly at lunch time, like the ones filled meat, cheese or those with pizza-like ingredients. You do not even need to know lots of Spanish. Just say, “pastelito de pizza por favor!”
While visiting, be sure to travel outside of Aguadilla. Old San Juan is about two hours away. Located on a small island, San Juan is full of history and is the oldest settlement in the country. There are over 400 restored buildings from the 16th and 17th century here, and cobblestone roads. It is a town filled with beautiful architecture, restaurants, museums, and lots of stores. The town even offers a free tourist trolley.
Perhaps one of the best perks of buying another house in Aquadilla, is the beautiful rain forests that surround. The El Yunque rain forest is a mountainous tropical rain forest on the eastern side of the Luquillo Mountains. It is the first mountain to face the wind and catch all of the rain. The El Yunque rain forest is filled with waterfalls that pour rain water into down the mountainside. There is even a spot to sit on your bottom and slide down a natural rock sliding board. It is quite fun!
Whatever it is that you are looking for in buying another home, you will find it here, in Aguadilla Puerto Rico. So come and bring your thirst for adventure with you!
