As many as 5,888 houses for Economically Weaker Section (EWS) would be constructed in Delhi in the next 21 months. The Delhi State Industrial & Infrastructure Development Corporation Limited (DSIIDC) recently awarded the contract to Era Infra Engineering Ltd (EIEL), for building these residential properties in Delhi.
The scope of work for EWS contract is construction of houses at Samaspur Khalsa, which is near village Khera Gaon, Najafgarh. These EWS houses will have a built up area of 30.80 sq m, and Ground plus three floors. Each residential property will consist of one living room, one multi purpose room, cooking area and separate bathroom & W.C. For the construction of slabs and beams, pre-cast concrete members shall be used while for walls modular bricks shall be used.
This real estate project in Delhi’s peripheral area shall be completed in 21 months from start of the construction and the construction will start as soon as the site is handed over by the DSIIDC.
When asked as to how will they ensure that it is cost effective construction of property yet with no compromise on quality, Era’s spokesperson commented, “For walls, modular bricks shall be used and there will not be any plaster over that. Similarly, to reduce the cost, pre-cast concrete members shall be used instead of cast-in-situ. So, by using cost effective technology, cost can be reduced without compromise on quality of real estate.”
When asked if they are doing any other similar projects, the spokesperson informed that they had also bagged a contract for construction of 1,272 residential properties of Type-I & Type-III at Bhorgarh, which between Bawana and Narela. Type 1 built up area is 31.93 sqm, Type-3 built up area is 39.74 sqm, Type-1 is Ground plus Two floors and Type- 3 is Ground plus three floors. Each dwelling unit of Type-1 consists of one living room, one multi purpose room and separate bathroom and W.C. while each Dwelling unit of Type-3 consists of one living room, one bedroom, kitchen and separate bathroom and W.C. For the construction of slabs and beams, pre-cast concrete members shall be used while for walls modular bricks shall be used. Perhaps, this way the otherwise impossible dream of owning real estate in Delhi region would come true for people with weak financial background.?
